Seven universities develop together an online teaching course

As part of the 2nd International Seminar on Online Higher Education in Management held in Santiago de Chile at the end of October 2016, OBS Business School from Spain, Mackenzie University from Brazil, Anahuac University from Mexico, University of Quilmes from Argentina, SIGLO XXI University from Argentina, International University of Ecuador and Universidad eMayor from Chile agreed to develop an online teacher training initiative.

This international collaboration is currently the course Methodology for the Quality of Online Education, started on May 22th, 2017. Thirty one online teachers from those institutions are enrolled.

Due to its advanced nature, the course is structured based on a conceptual approach linked to tools that the teacher can use. This conceptual approach and tools are explained in order to provide teachers knowledge and arguments to support and justify educational practices in a particular professional field without forgetting the skills and attitudes necessary for online teaching. The course includes four modules:

  • Module 1: Methodologies for the quality of online education.
  • Module 2: Collaborative Learning Strategies.
  • Module 3: Affective Language: interfaces with online teaching.
  • Module 4: Digital tools in education.
